Bring Out the Best with Enhancers

Have you ever looked around the neighborhood and seen a vibrant driveway, only to wonder how exactly they got it looking so good? It’s not new – that’s for sure. They’ve had those old pavers for years, but they’ve got a glow like they were just made.

Green with envy about that beautiful driveway? It doesn’t cost top dollar to get that same look for your own. The trick is using enhancers, a coating substance that brings out the colors of your pavers for picture-perfect driveways. Not to be confused with sealers, enhancers don’t protect your pavers from the elements – it’s simply like applying a coat of color to your pavers.

If you’ve been interested in sealing your driveway, it’s important to note that most sealers out there are also enhancers. Whether you want a wet look or want something more subtle, many modern sealers do the job of both. If you’re not looking to seal just yet, enhancers are an affordable and easy way to make your pavers pop. If you want a DIY project, enhancers are the optimal choice -- applying sealer requires more technical expertise.

Applying your Enhancer

The first step is getting your driveway clean. Just like when you apply sealers, enhancers work best when the product is clean and clear of oils and stains. We recommend a deep pressure cleaning. Clean any stains that you don’t want to be more pronounced. Degreasers are especially important for removing oils. Check out our degreasing blog post to see what works best for your driveway. Once you've gotten the cleaning out of the way, it's time to apply your enhancer. You can roll it on like paint, but we prefer using a pump and sprayer. You can find a simple $15 - $20 pump at your local hardware store and fill it with your enhancer of choice.

When the enchancer is applied, you'll see the difference almost instantly. There's no need to redo layers or re apply unless you're doing touchups. Visual confirmation is the most important aspect of enhancers. If it looks like it's working -- it's working.

Save More with Enhancers

You can save big on color enhancers by doing it yourself and skipping on the sealer until you need it. Though we do recommend sealers (especially to protect your investment from Florida weather) it might not be necessary at this point. We only carry our personal favorite color enhancement products at Pan American, so you can be confident you're only getting the products that we use on our own pavers and stone. Whether you want high-gloss finishes that shine, semi-glosses that deepen the colors, or matte looks to give a subtle boost, you can find everything you need at our Medley, FL location.
