What is efflorescence?

Efflorescence is essentially crystallization of salts caused by water drying on porous materials. These salts Though some more damaging variants of efflorescence do exist, the most common kinds you'll see are purely cosmetic and can be washed away with a pressure hose, sandblasting, or even a stiff brush and muriatic acid. For more information on how to get rid of efflorescence in brick, read our blog post.

What is a paver?

Pavers can be made up of many materials, from clay brick to concrete, but are mostly used for projects like walkways and driveways. Pavers are most easily denoted by their thickness -- often about 2 3/8" to 3 1/8". They are made thicker to provide more resistance to heavy loads. Pavers are most often layed on layers of sand as where thinner cuts (like tiles), need a surface with more support, namely concrete slab.
